Eating to live is becoming more of a focus as the health industry continues to grow and the world continues to push us in a more balanced lifestyle. Our faith is tested day in and day out but if there is a person who knows what it means all too well.
Author, Foster Care Advocate, Mother, and Entrepreneur Cathy Jewel Chatman was diagnosed with stage four breast cancer at a time she felt her life was ‘euphoria’. She became obedient to God, her body and was healed. Cathy shares her powerful journey within her book, God’s Handcrafted Jewel: Faith In The Face Of Illness.
Pulled from page 58, Cathy gives us a few insightful tips on getting our health back on the right track:
– Strive to reduce foods high in salt and fat
– Eat a variety of foods to get all the nutrients you need
– Drink plenty of water – Drinking Water Helps Maintain the Balance of Body Fluids. Your body is composed of approximately 60% water. The functions of these bodily fluids include digestion, absorption, circulation, creation of saliva, transportation of nutrients, and maintenance of body temperature.
– Maintain your ideal body weight. A registered dietitian or your health care provider can help calculate your ideal body weight.
-Always check with your doctor first before starting a new exercise program.
Cathy also recommends allotting time for ‘daily devotions and affirmations’ and being transparent to nursing yourself back to good health. It can be done.
