With all the beauty trends going on currently, I decided to join in and make a coconut oil and honey facial mask!
What I Used
2 Tsp of Coconut
1.5 Tsp of Honey
First thing first, I suggest keeping your coconut oil in the refrigerator if you want to make the mask. I made the mistake of leaving it out which made the mixture sit on my skin translucently but it was worth it.
Now that that’s settled, I loved it and how it left my face feeling after. But because of the mistake, the facial mask ran down my face and under my chin. I had to hold the container to ensure I didn’t stain my clothes. The mixture got into my left eye (annoying, not deadly) but with a little water and a wash
It smelled fine and since I’m not consuming honey, it was surprising that I didn’t try to lick the golden honey! Another milestone that I’ll take.
We can only control but so much. When we take control of our thinking, eating, and living, we design our paths and follow the way of our passion. It’s hard af, but I urge you to keep fighting!
Back to the facial, it remained on my face for about fifteen minutes before I hopped in the shower to rejuvenate for the week.
Why Do a Coconut Oil and Honey Face Mask?
Coconuts & Kettlebells reports Honey contains varying concentrations of polyphenols, which are powerful antioxidants that counteract the effects of free radicals, and may help repair damaged tissue. It also contains alpha hydroxy acids, which makes it a great gentle exfoliator.
Basically, because honey has moisturizing, antimicrobial, and restorative properties, it’s great for using as a homemade face mask. It also may help improve a variety of skin conditions, which makes it great for all skin types.
Guys, my skin felt great and I loved it. I’ll be using it again and trying a DIY toner. I’ll keep you updated.
