No Good Deed Movie Review

ngd2No Good Deed had each viewer at the edge of their seat screaming and yes, screaming at the screen for Terri (Taraji P. Henson). Colin (Idris Elba) is ruthless in approach and aimlessly frightening. Idris Elba plays the darkest role viewers will see and he plays crazy tremendously in this thriller.

Terri is a devoted wife and mother of two, living an ideal suburban life in Atlanta when Colin, a charming but dangerous escaped convict, shows up at her door claiming car trouble. Terri offers her phone to help him but soon learns that no good deed goes unpunished as she finds herself fighting for survival when he invades her home and terrorizes her family.

As a movie goer, I loved the fact that Colin wasn’t written as a phony killer. I love that he is a violent, sadistic, yet handsome man. The flashback, climax moments, and Terri sticking it to him; I loved that it is a great story written. The back story is explored, mindset of a sadistic man is prevalent and the fight of an unhappy house wife is amazing. As a writer myself, I love the plot, climax, fight scenes and Idris Elba’s face (fans self)!

As a black writer, I love that it is finally a great Black thriller! Will Packer makes sure fans are glued to the screen at ALL times. I had no snacks for the movie and honestly I didn’t need anything because I was intrigued from the first scene.

No Good Deed receives a 4 out of 5 rating! Go see and support a black movie today!
