Yolanda Ann hails from Houston, Texas like our girl Beyoncé and it seems that all these Houston divas are out here dominating in their fields. Stylist and owner of the E.G.O Boutique, Yolanda Ann is visiting the ATL for the launch of her swimwear line called “Submerge,” and it will be a great reveal for this budding star. Not only will she be in ATL on Saturday, she had a chance to sit down and speak with Pardon My Audacity about everything E.G.O.
PMA: Tell women about E.G.O Boutique. What does E.G.O stand for?
YA: E.G.O. Boutique began as a small venture several years ago. I had an attainable vision of locating trendy clothing for curvy women. E.G.O. Boutique’s goals are to ensure women of all shapes and sizes can comfortably experience color, designs, and print for every occasion. PMA: What type of woman is rocking E.G.O Boutique clothing?
YA: I don’t believe there is one specific type of a woman that rocks E.G.O. Boutique clothing. I believe we are diverse in catering to the different needs, wants, and desires of women.
PMA: What is going on at your upcoming event at Harlem Nights? Give us the deets.
YA: May 14th at Harlem Nights, I will be launching my new swimsuit line called “Submerge” by Yolanda Ann. This line is a mixture of swimsuit apparel. I can see many of these items for different locations such as the beach, poolside party or photo-shoots, and etc. I wanted to create diversity and I believe this line is chic, simple and full of different shades, tones, colors and prints. I love bold colors!
PMA: What inspired the line?
YA: This line was inspired by believing women of all sizes can wear swim wear. I don’t believe swim wear is only bathing/swim suits. However, I do believe swimwear can be worn in places other than on a beach. I also wanted to create some pieces that were easy to transition to after a beach party or other events. Like for example, I have a garment that is a wrap maxi dress, but underneath it is a swim suit. Every year, I visit Miami and I have to leave the beach and go back to my hotel room to change before I walk the South Beach strip; now I am able to just wrap my maxi dress and go grab a bite to eat.
PMA: Yolanda, you are a stylist and an entrepreneur. How do you balance both sides of your business?
YA: It’s definitely difficult trying to maintain both; however, I have a great friend indeed name Jesus who keeps me grounded and motivated when I feel like giving up.
PMA: What are you favorite pieces in your collection?
YA: I love every piece of the line.
PMA: Where can we find your pieces?
YA: You can visit the website which everything will be loaded Saturday at midnight.
PMA: What is next for E.G.O?
YA: I was invited to Vancouver Fashion Week and Pulp Fashion Week in Paris for next year……so I plan to strengthen my craft because there is always room for learning and I definitely plan on taking E.G.O. Signatures by Yolanda Ann internationally.
